Child Advocates Sets Up Endowment Fund| Posted by: CRANE WEST | Categories:
With the uncertainty of government grant funding, many nonprofits have sought alternative sources of revenue to ensure their long-term survival. With that in mind, Child Advocates CASA of Red River has joined with the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation (WFACF) to create the Child Advocates CASA of Red River Endowment Fund. CASA supporters or anyone with an interest in the welfare of children in the Texoma region may contribute to the Endowment by sending a donation to the WFACF on behalf of Child Advocates. You may also donate online by credit card at www.wfacf.org or by phone at (940) 766-0829 and specify the Child Advocates Endowment Fund.
As the number of children in substitute care in Archer, Clay, Montague, and Wichita counties continues to grow, the program of Child Advocates CASA of Red River must grow with it to ensure that every child that needs a CASA volunteer has one. Our recruiting efforts are aimed at increasing the number of volunteers to permit 100% coverage of all the children in care. With the increase in the number of volunteers though, comes a related expense to provide support for the volunteers. This expense for the reimbursement of mileage costs for the volunteers, support services for volunteers and the administrative costs associated with supervision and program operations.
The goal of Child Advocates is to provide a trained CASA volunteer for every child that needs one. In support of that goal, we are making a concerted effort to reach self-sufficiency and break our reliance on state and federal grant funds. The creation of the Child Advocates Endowment Fund is just the first step in reaching the goal of self-sufficiency for the CASA program. Please join us in our efforts to become the most effective CASA program in the state of Texas.
